There are many shorter, comfortable walks
available on the pleasant trails surrounding the
Lodge. They offer stunning views of
Thirteenth Lake and
the surrounding mountains, many species of
trees and plants to enjoy as well as tables and
benches to sit and take in the natural surroundings.
Take one of our canoes
or kayaks out on the lake and explore the
many quiet and interesting spots along its
pristine, totally uninhabited shores.
Loons and beavers are regular inhabitants as
are osprey, eagles and hawks.
Our professional tennis courts are available
to play on as singles or doubles.
Pickle ball can also be played on the courts.
Nearby Thirteenth Lake offers
access for both supervised and open water swimming on a completely
unspoiled Adirondack lake; With

hiking trails to enjoy thrilling bike rides from
easy to adventurous. (Mountain bike rental
is included with overnight stay).
Take a boat out on Thirteenth
Lake and fish to your hearts content, or arrange for
a guided fishing trip at the Adventure Center where
you can be taken to some of the best secluded spots
in the Adirondacks. (We don't supply fishing gear).
Pull up an Adirondack chair and
relax on our lawn overlooking the lake, or head on
down to the beach and enjoy the sun and water up
Our location at 2000' above sea level and far
from any city or lighted area, gives us some of the
darkest skies to be found anywhere. So bring
your telescope or even a pair of binoculars and be
wowed by the vast array of astronomical objects that can
be seen on a clear night.
Whitewater rafting through the Hudson River Gorge is an
amazing way to experience the natural beauty and excitement
of the Adirondacks. Spend a weekend or settle in for a week of outdoor
